The Sixth International Congress on Underwater Archaeology (IKUWA 6) was a great success. The congress, hosted by Western Australian Museum, took place 28th November – 2 December 2016.
Over 280 archaeologists from 43 countries attended, covering a huge range of themes from Shipwreck to Submerged Landscapes. The Foundation’s presence was highly visible, with papers and posters presented by senior academics and students alike, and a dedicated session in Maritime Archaeology, Capacity Building and Training in the developing world was successfully supported by the Foundation. We are looking forward to IKUWA 7 planned for Helsinki in 2020.
