The Foundation offers studentships to support post-graduate studies in maritime archaeology at selected academic institutions. Scholarships are offered as follows:
University of Southampton, UK, Masters and Doctoral studentships in Maritime Archaeology.
This scholarship is aimed at supporting nationals of Cyprus, Lebanon and Syria (only) to apply for studentships at the University of Southampton, Centre for Maritime Archaeology, to undertake Masters or Doctoral studies. Studentships are offered annually and candidates are requested to submit applications to the University of Southampton by following the guidelines outlined here.
University of Cyprus, Masters studentships with a specialty in Maritime Archaeology.
This scholarship is offered to students enrolled on the Masters Programme in Field Archaeology on Land and Under the Sea, University of Cyprus. The scholarship is designed to support students to pursue post-graduate studies at Masters level in maritime archaeology. Studentships are offered annually and candidates are requested to submit applications to the University of Cyprus by following the guidelines outlined here.
Occasional studentships are supported by the Foundation for students to study at other universities that teach maritime archaeology. For example in 2015/2016 doctoral studentships were awarded for study at the University of Flinders, Adelaide, Australia. The Foundation is keen to support similar initiatives in the future.
University of Aix-Marseille Masters studentships in Maritime Archaeology
The Master MoMArch (Master of Maritime and Coastal Archaeology) with the support of the Honor Frost Foundation, is pleased to offer one scholarship for its Masters programme to candidates with Lebanese or Syrian nationality applying for September 2017.
The Master of Maritime and Coastal Archaeology (MoMArch), it is a two-year full-time course, aimed at training international specialists in underwater and coastal archaeology. The programme is a full member of the UNESCO/UNITWIN Network for Underwater Archaeology, has been awarded the Academy of Excellence Call for projects (A*Midex University Foundation). In 2017, the Aix-Marseille University obtained the UNESCO Chair in Maritime and Coastal Archaeology, with the Master MoMArch in the core of its educational project. Courses are taught in French and in English. For the 2017-2019 Master course, the closing date for applications is the 15th of April 2017. When relevant conferences, workshops, projects and/ or field schools are held, the Foundation offers the opportunity for students from the eastern Mediterranean region (as defined previously), to apply for support in the form of bursaries to take part in these activities.
